I think that the iPhone and it's better than an iPad for many reasons.

 iPhone and I think lots of people have one. I think it looks better when you try to call someone using an iPad. You look like a weirdo. Also you can get more colours.

Finally iPhones have more models and updates as you can get iPhone 8/8 plus iPhone x XR XS iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 plus at the moment and iPad may only have 1 or 2 options.

As you can see an iphone is much better thanz an ipad and can do more for you.
